Cora L. Sams

Cora Lee Sams, 88, entered into rest on Thursday, August 1, 2013.

Cora was born on September 7, 1924 in Pine Top, Mississippi. A loving wife and mother, Cora enjoyed caring for her family. Her parents, Ollis and Cora Griffin, Sr., and husband, William Sams, Sr., all preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Vanessa Johnson (James), Birmingham, Alabama; Josephine Whitehead (James), Birmingham, Alabama; Terry E. Sams, Sr. (Chantelle), Ft. Valley, Georgia; and William Sams, Jr., Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren, Terrell Sams, William Cowen, Nicholas Callins, Jada Sams, Terry Sams, Jr., Jeremy Michael Sams, Shelahe Sams, Elexis Sams, Shacora Sams and Gabbrielle Sams; and sister, Mary Kelly, Birmingham, Alabama.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 8, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in Oakland Cemetery, Birmingham, Alabama.
