Cpo David Lee Weaver, Us Navy (Ret.)

December 31, 1943 — September 7, 2017

On the evening of Thursday, September 7, 2017, David Weaver, 73, passed away at the Houston Medical Center.

Born on December 31, 1943, David was one of seven children born to the late Ralph and Jennie Weaver. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he served 21 years in the United States Navy before retiring with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Following his active duty career, David worked for the Houston County School Board as a school bus driver. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching all sports especially Horse Races and NASCAR. However, his greatest joy came from time spent with his beloved family.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of 31 years, Katherine Weaver of Kathleen; children, Gordon Weaver of Bonaire; Kayla Weaver of Kathleen; Carissa Preston (Chris) of Kathleen; Brian Weaver of Cumberland, Maryland; Jennie Miller of Hagerstown, Maryland; Elizabeth Weaver of Cumberland, Maryland; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Andersonville National Cemetery where David will be laid to rest with full military honors.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of David Lee Weaver to the charity of your choice or to a fund benefitting David. These gifts can be made payable to McCullough Funeral Home with “David Weaver Memorial Fund” written in the memo line.
