Byron – Darrell W. Monroe, 58, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7 at the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Macon Memorial Park.
Darrell was born in Macon, Georgia. He was retired from the Civil Service at Robins AFB as a production management specialist. He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army in Vietnam in 1967-1968. Darrell loved to hunt, fish and golf. He was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Macon. His parents, William and Ruthie Monroe, sisters, Lynette Berkner, Melva Mead and brother, Bill Monroe preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving companion, Edi Harvey, Byron; son, Mark Monroe (Donna), Warner Robins; step-sons, Michael Harvey (Lisa), Cochran, Mark Harvey (Melanie), Warner Robins; sisters, Clarice Crooms, TN, Elouise Lowie (Dallas), Centerville; brothers, Frank Monroe (Ely), Henderson, Ronald Monroe (Gail), Milan, Kenneth Monroe (Janet) Scotland, GA, Thomas Monroe, McRae, Gerry Monroe (Julana) Macon; grandchildren, Kamron, Tyler and Summer Monroe.
