David Wayne Hodges entered into rest on the morning of Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Born on December 29, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida, David was the son of the late James Alton Hodges and Betty Jo Robinson Hodges.
David was a man of deep faith who loved the Lord, and he carried that love into his everyday life through kindness to his family and neighbors. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Robins Air Force Base as an aviation mechanic in civil service.
He had a lifelong passion for history and creativity, especially through gaming and Renaissance reenactments. David took great pride in crafting medieval costumes, working leather by hand, and collecting and studying medieval swords. His enthusiasm for reenactment brought both authenticity and joy to those around him.
In addition to his historical interests, David was an avid fan of Star Wars and enjoyed building model airplanes and tanks. He loved putting together puzzles and spent many hours engaged in thoughtful challenges that reflected his curious and analytical mind.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Keiser.
His memory will forever be treasured by his sister, Debbie Henderson; nephews, Clay Henderson, Chad Henderson, and Kyle Boggs; niece, Kayla Trifiro; great-nephew, Austin Henderson; and aunt, Gloria Lisenby; and many cousins.
At the family’s request, all services held will be private.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
