David W. Powell, age 77, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Summerhill Senior Living Community in Perry, Georgia. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Born on February 7, 1949, David was the son of the late Elbert and Bobbie Reeves Powell. He spent his early years in Salem and graduated from Cochran High School with the Class of 1967. He continued his education at Middle Georgia College, earning his degree in 1969.

Following college, David began his professional career with the Bleckley County Tax Assessors Office. He later moved to Warner Robins, where he worked as an appraiser for Georgia Federal Bank. His passion and expertise in the field led him to establish his own business—Powell Appraisal Services—which he operated for over four decades until his retirement.

David had a deep appreciation for skeet shooting and achieved recognition as a state champion shooter. He also maintained an extensive gun collection that reflected his lifelong interest in firearms. A man of faith, David was a devoted member of Sandy Valley Baptist Church in Warner Robins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda R. Powell.

David is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Sandra) Powell and Donnie Powell of Cochran; step-children, Tim (Kim) Hunter and Tammy (Phillip) Whitehead; as well as several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren who will forever cherish his memory.

Donations may be made in memory of David to Sandy Valley Baptist Church, 1124 S Houston Lake Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
