Dean Andrew Windham entered into rest on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the age of 67.
Born on November 21, 1957, in Marietta, Georgia, Dean was the son of June Marie (Stimpson) Windham and the late Troy Richard Windham. As a child, he moved with his family to Warner Robins, Georgia, where he spent his formative years and graduated as a member of the Northside High School Class of 1975.
Shortly after graduation, Dean served his country by joining the United States Air Force. Over the course of a distinguished 19-year military career, he rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant. He served as a dedicated C-130 Crew Chief, with assignments that included Hill AFB in Utah, Pope AFB in North Carolina, and Torrejon AFB in Spain- where he met his beloved wife of 43 years. His service also included deployment in support of Operation Desert Storm, reflecting his unwavering commitment to duty and excellence.
After his military career, Dean pursued his passion for taxidermy through the family business working at Aartistik Taxidermy. His craftsmanship was widely respected, especially for his remarkable work with mounting fish and deer. Dean later applied his talents in leadership roles, serving as the Operational Manager for American Tire and most recently, as the Plant Manager for Orrco International.
Outside of his professional careers, Dean enjoyed hunting. He passed away peacefully hunting in his deer stand. Dean also had a love for fishing, sipping coffee on the front porch, and spending quality time with friends and family. Known for his easy-going nature, quick wit, and knack for storytelling, he never met a stranger and was always ready with a joke. He was also proud to have served as president of the Liars Lodge Hunting Club, a role that suited him because of his love for the outdoors and camaraderie.
Dean leaves behind a legacy of service, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife Maria J. Gutierrez Windham of Centerville; children, Jessica Perkins (John) of Benton, Louisiana, and Troy Windham of Clovis, New Mexico; grandchildren, Lucas Perkins, and Warren Perkins; siblings, Mark Windham (Robin), Vicki Earich; several nieces and nephews including, Corey Windham, Heather Grimsley, Blake Earich, and Sydney Ridge.
Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Dean Andrew Windham will be laid to rest privately.
