Debbie “Momma D” Meredith-Ehrler passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was the devoted wife of Richard; a loving mother to her sons, Garrett and Chad; and a proud mother by marriage to Brandon. She was also a beloved sister to Derek Meredith, who remained by her side through every step of her journey. Above all, Debbie was a mother figure to everyone she met, a role she embraced wholeheartedly and one that earned her the cherished nickname “Momma D.”
Born on July 25, 1962, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Debbie was the first child of Edgar “Ken” and Sharron Meredith and was later joined by three brothers. Ken’s career in the Air Force took the family to Italy and Spain, where Debbie spent much of her childhood and developed a deep appreciation for the languages, cultures, and cuisines of Europe. In time, the family made their permanent home in middle Georgia, where Ken retired from military service and Debbie’s roots continued to grow.
Debbie lived a full life, rich with love, laughter, and family. Those who knew her will remember her kindness, her quiet reliability, and—above all—her deep love for her family and friends. She lived fully, gave generously, and leaves behind a legacy of compassion and devotion that will continue to echo in the lives of all she touched.
This Thursday marked the loss of an angel who walked among us. For those of us left behind, it is a day marked by deep sorrow. Yet we should not be overcome entirely by grief, for on this day Heaven undoubtedly gained an angel—one who will forever watch over us, guiding and protecting us while offering the same warmth and strength she so freely gave during her time on Earth.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home, with a reception to follow at Richard and Debbie’s house.
