In the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 6, 2017, Boling B. “Doc” Poole, III, 85, passed away peacefully at his home.
Doc was born on September 30, 1932 in Washington, Georgia to the late Boling, Jr. and Mildred Poole. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his active duty service, Doc began his career at the United States Postal Service retiring after 33 years as a letter carrier. He was an avid fisherman whose love for being outdoors was second only to the love he had for his family and friends. Doc had a zest for life, caring heart, and never met a stranger.
His daughter, Debbie Poole Maslin and brother, Michael Poole, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 33 years, Doris Poole of Bonaire; son, Craig Poole; stepdaughters, Patricia King (Bill) of Byron, Karen Crawford (Steve) of Bonaire, Sharon Nutgrass of Warner Robins, Christy Norman (Kevin) of Warner Robins; son-in-law, Scott Maslin; grandchildren, Kerrie Maslin, Amanda Maslin, Lydia Poole, Stacey Carty (Joe), Elizabeth Nagy (Rick), Natalie Armentrout (Jason), Audrey Morath, Toby Norman, Katie Norman; 11 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service with military honors will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at McCullough Funeral Home with visitation following until 2:00 p.m. After the service, Doc will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
