Dola Anne Carter, 84, of Bonaire, Georgia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. She was born on November 29, 1941, in Allagash, Maine, to the late John and Ellen (Hughes) Walker. She called New England home for most of her life before eventually moving to Georgia to be closer to family, where she found peace, joy, and contentment in her later years.

On September 11, 1970, Dola married Robert E. Carter and together they shared 40 years of marriage until his passing on December 27, 2010. The memories they created remained a source of comfort and peace.

Throughout her life, Dola demonstrated remarkable resilience and compassion. She found strength, friendship, and purpose through a fellowship dedicated to supporting families affected by addiction. Her perseverance, loving example, and unwavering support of those she cared for broke the cycle of addiction for her future family generations, creating a lasting legacy of hope and healing.

Dola's greatest joy was her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She delighted in making those around her laugh with her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She especially enjoyed hosting weekly family dinners. Cooking for her family brought her tremendous happiness, and her table was always a place where loved ones gathered to share stories, laughter, and fellowship.

Crafts and crocheting were her favorite hobbies. She enjoyed sharing these hobbies with her grandchildren. Her creative talents and thoughtful gifts reflected the love she poured into every relationship.

From 2014 until 2021, Dola returned to Maine, where she reconnected with family members and close childhood friends. She considered those years a special gift and was deeply grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with the people she treasured. In 2021, she returned to Georgia to be near family during her final years, where she continued to share her love, wisdom, and joy with those around her.

Dola was a member of First Baptist Church in Warner Robins. Her faith was an important part of her life. At the age of 81, she joyfully celebrated her baptism, publicly affirming her commitment to Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ellen (Hughes) Walker; her siblings, John Walker, Glenna Sharpe, Rodney Walker, Delia Nelson, Robert Walker, and Donna Miller; grandsons, Jacob John Beaulieu and Sean Carter.

She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever, children, Abel Beaulieu, Toby Beaulieu, Vickie and Joseph Wiechec, Roberta Lagasse-Carter, Thomas and Gail Beaulieu, and Robert and Judy Carter II; grandchildren: Brett Beaulieu, Sarah and Tina Wyman-Beaulieu, Danielle and Hunter Foster, Dylan Beaulieu, Rafael and Zuly Guerra, Gerald Guerra, Mary Laura Guerra, Oscar and Channel Guerra, Emily Beaulieu, Anthony Stefano, Michael Stefano, Kimberly and Alex Uso, Jessica and James Neshko, Joshua Carter, Robert Holmes, Austin Holmes, Morgan Carter, Madison Carter, Megan Carter, Linda and Denzel Ellison, Shannon and Isaac Cruz, and Mary Williams, and 24 beloved great-grandchildren; siblings, Pauline Harvey, Lester Walker, and Sandra Berube, daughters-in-law, Kathleen Turner, Nuvia Beaulieu, Josephine Beaulieu, and Kristen Carter.  She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews from the Walker, Beaulieu, and Carter families.
