Donald Eugene Colquitt

Donald Eugene Colquitt passed away on the morning of Saturday, October 26, 2019.
Born in Athens, Georgia, Donald was the son of the late Eugene Alonzo and Anne Hartness Colquitt. Immediately following high school, he began work as a staking engineer for Florida Power and Light (FPL). Donald then transferred and spent 22 years with Glades Electric in Florida before taking his final position at Tri County EMC in Gray, where he worked for 12 years until retiring. Donald was known for his love of the outdoors; he enjoyed fishing, building fires, and was a Master Gardener. Most of all, Donald adored the time that he was able to spend with his family. Donald was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed and never forgotten.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Clay Colquitt (Tonya) of Sebring, Florida, and Amy Colquitt; step-children, Johnathan and Christopher Mahoney; grandchildren, Tyler and Jackson Colquitt, and Clayton, Alyssa and Shelby; great-grandchild, Wesley; sisters, Suzanne Neidlinger (Eric), Jane Berger (Johnny), all of Byron; and former wife and friend, Sherry Colquitt of Byron.

At the family’s request all services are private.
