Donald Leslie Meeker, Jr.

July 2, 1948 — September 3, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald, who was born on July 2, 1948, in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the beloved son of the late Donald Leslie and Ella Rae Johnson Meeker.

Donald's life was marked by dedication and service to his country. He served with pride and honor in the United States Air Force for four years, where he demonstrated unwavering commitment to his duty. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, and together, they shared 54 beautiful years of marriage after crossing paths at the U.S.O. Club on Robins Air Force Base. After his military service, Donald worked as an Installer for AT&T before his retirement.

Donald's passion for life extended to his love for sports and physical activity. He was an esteemed athlete who found joy in skateboarding, surfing, football, and basketball. His dedication to martial arts led him to achieve a remarkable third-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a testament to his discipline and determination.

Known for his outgoing and friendly nature, Donald was a person who never met a stranger. He had a gift for striking up conversations and building connections with people from all walks of life. His warm and welcoming personality made him a cherished member of the community.

Donald's commitment to his local community was further evident through his involvement with the Warner Robins High School Booster Club. He contributed his time and effort to support the club, and he was especially proud of his contribution in crafting the highly prized Demon mascot with his friend, Galen Noll.

One of Donald's greatest joys was his passion for the beach. Whether it was the sound of the waves, the warmth of the sun, or the feel of sand beneath his feet, he found solace and happiness at the seaside. Donald also played drums in a band that was similar to The Blue’s Brothers.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Jacquelyn McNeil Meeker of Warner Robins; and brothers, Roger Meeker (Mary) of Arizona, David Meeker (Bernie) of Maryland, Halbert Meeker, Washington, Ella Meeker of Kentucky; and best friends, Galen and Mary Noll.

At this time, service times are pending.
