Donald William Pund, 96, entered into rest on Tuesday August 11, 2026.

Donald was born on October 20, 1929, in Covington, Kentucky to the late Frank and Lorinda Pund. After graduating from high school, Donald was drafted by the Pittsburg Pirates to pitch for their minor league team. He would complete his stint with the Pirates in 1950, and went on to marry the love of his life, Marilyn Ruth Pund.

Donald worked for several years as a machinist at R.A. Jones in northern Kentucky, then later began a career with Anheuser Busch. His work with Heileman’s Brewery took Donald all over the country as he visited many breweries. After he retired, Donald worked at the International Golf Course and the Perry Country Club.

In his free time, Donald enjoyed model trains and was an avid sports fan. He especially loved the Braves and the Reds, always seeking out an opportunity to sit and enjoy a game.

Above all, Donald cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandkids. He counted every moment spent with them a blessing.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn Ruth Pund.

His memory will forever be cherished by his children, Donna Trahan (Doug) of Austin, TX, Ted Pund (Karen) of Enterprise, AL, and Jennifer Richter (Allen) of Warner Robins, Georgia; his grandchildren Adam Trahan (Delia), Katie Zoss (Jason), William Pund, James Pund (Jennifer), Jaccavrie Hinson (James), Max Richter, Carter Richter (Kaylee), Conner Richter, Madelyn Richter, and Macy Richter; and his seven great grandchildren; along with a host of friends and extended family.

At the request of the family, all services will be private.

The family will accept flowers or memorial donations may be given in honor of Donald to a charity of your choosing.
