The matriarch of her family, Donna Rae Smith, 59, passed away at Houston Medical Center on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
Born on April 30, 1962, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, Donna was the daughter of Francis A. Beck and the late Donald Ray Weaver. After dating for a little while, she married her husband, Russell on May 21, 1995. They have been together for a total of 34 years. While Russell worked, Donna stayed at home to raise their five wonderful children. With fierce loyalty, she cared deeply for her family and loved them unconditionally. Donna especially enjoyed being a “Granny” to her grandchildren. Together they had fun playing many games and watching movies. As her family would put it, “she was the biggest movie collector known to man.” Donna also enjoyed shopping, giving to others in need, was talented at making arts and crafts, and was 20-year avid bowler at the Gold Cup Bowling Center in Warner Robins. Full of life, she loved getting tattoos, the color blue, and anything with butterflies. She was a very special woman who laughed a lot and had a good time wherever she went. Donna was a great person overall who will be deeply missed by everyone.
In addition to her father, Donna was preceded in death by her son, Devan Smith.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring husband, Russell Dean Smith; children, Brandy Baxter (William Baxter, III), Rusty Smith ( Brittany Tanner), John Rauser, and Maddison Rauser; grandchildren, Allison, Alex, Autumn, Ayden, and Annabelle Baxter; Levi Smith; Jacob and Jasmine Rauser; mother, Frances Beck; siblings, Tammy, Keith, and Terry Weaver; best friends, Hydi Spry; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
