Doris W. Fry, 89, entered into rest on the morning of Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
Doris was born in Miami, Florida, on August 23, 1935, to the late Carl Bennett Welsh and Vesta Gattis Welsh. A devoted mother of four and beloved wife of an elder in the Church of Christ, Doris was a pillar of strength and love in her family and community.
For 20 years, Doris served as a loan officer at Bell-Tel Federal Credit Union, in Orlando, Florida, where her kindness and expertise touched the lives of many. As one of the original Tupperware sales ladies, she helped shape a brand that would become a household name, starting at a time when the only color available was the classic white.
Doris was an avid member of the Garden Club, where she cultivated her love for nature and shared her passion for gardening with others. Her involvement in the Home Makers Club reflected her commitment to community and lifelong learning.
A dedicated member of the Church of Christ, Doris’s faith guided her actions and relationships throughout her life. Her warm spirit and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and faith will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel Fry III; granddaughter, Heather Wolf; and brother Raymond B. Welsh.
Doris is survived by her children, Mike Fry (Barbara), Janet Stout (Steve), Suzanne Hodges (James), and Steve Fry (Ginny); sister, Patricia A. Wilkins; grandchildren, Shannon Grissett, Stacia Johnson (Darren), Lacy Harris (Brandon), Raymond Dormer, Levi Fry, Tyler Stout (Sarah), Sally Scruggs (Matt), and Jack Fry; great-grandchildren, Hailey Johnson, Jack Johnson, Hayden Wolf, Collin Johnson, Gunner Wolf, Sydney Grissett, Charlotte Scruggs, and Madeline Harris; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
