Doris Watson Gill, 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2006. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at All Saints Episcopal Church, with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
Mrs. Gill was born on January 13, 1923 in Marion County, GA. Doris grew up in Taylor County, GA, a true Southern lady. Even at the end of her life as she suffered mightily, she never complained and was always gracious to the end. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and a life member of VFW Post 6605. Her parents, George W. Watson and Alice Jewel Watson, siblings, Robert Watson, George Watson, Tommy Watson, Hugh Watson and Wynelle Ray, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Leon M. Gill, Warner Robins; daughter, Judy Gill Johnson (Henry), Macon; son, Larry M. Gill (Diane), Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Judy Brown (Gary), Hank Johnson, Leon Johnson (Tammy), Clay Johnson (Amanda), Kelley Padgitt (Kevin), Duffie Gill; great-grandchildren, Tripp Johnson, April Johnson, Lydia Brown, Teresa Ackerman, Kaitlyn Padgitt, Leland Padgitt, and sisters, Patsy Sams and Kathleen Childres, both of Macon.
