Dorothy Anne Baker-Valencia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the age of 60.

Dorothy was born on November 1, 1965, to the late Paul and Ann Valencia in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She moved around in her childhood as a member of a military family, spending the longest time in Sumter, South Carolina. It was there that she attended St. Anne Catholic School, where she developed a strong faith that she would carry with her the rest of her life.

Dorothy’s first job was loving on and taking care of her children, her pride and joy. She loved spending time with them and taking them on trips, especially to Disney World. Christmas was one of her favorite times of year because it was the perfect opportunity to enjoy quality time with her family. Dorothy eventually also took on the role of caring for her parents as their health declined, demonstrating a consistency of character that came from a true devotion to her family. She also loved her dogs, especially Gremlin, and made frequent donations to the Humane Society.

Dorothy returned to school later in life, earning a certificate from Central Georgia Technical College that allowed her to pursue a career as Patient Care Technician at Houston Medical Center. During this time, Dorothy was able to exercise the care and affection that she was known for on countless individuals, leaving a lasting impression on both her patients and coworkers.

In her spare time, Dorothy loved fishing, cheering for her Buckeyes from The Ohio State University, and cherishing each and every moment with her family.

Dorothy will be remembered for her kind heart, thoughtful soul, a great sense of humor, and an unparalleled ability to see the bright side of everything.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Michael Baker, Jennifer Baker, Jeremy Baker, Alex Baker, and Kailee Valencia; her grandson, Landon Miller; and her siblings, Debra Smith (Terry) and Dwayne Valencia (Cheryl).

The family will hold a visitation on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Dorothy to the Humane Society of Houston County at https://www.humanesocietyhoco.org/donate.php.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
