Dot Hlavaty, 91, entered into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, November 25, 2017.
Dot was born on June 14, 1926 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania to the late William and Maude Herb Alvord. She was a loving and devoted homemaker whose family was always her highest priority. In August of 1965, Dot became a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and later dedicated her time as a charter member of Heart of Georgia Hospice.
Along with her parents, Dot is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Albert M. Hlavaty, and six siblings.
Her memory will forever be treasured by children, Suzanne Mixon (Ralph) of Kathleen, Albert J. Hlavaty (Kaye) of Macon and George T Hlavaty (Thea) of Warner Robins; eight grandchildren, CW03 James E. Drinnon (Aileen), LtCol Steven J. Drinnon (Jenny), Greg Hlavaty (Jenn), Kyle A. Mixon (Laura), Matt Hlavaty (Kailey), Melissa Anderson (Michael), Christopher R. Mixon (Jorden Anne), and Katie Hlavaty; eleven great grandchildren; Brittany Drinnon, Brianna Drinnon, Jaycie Drinnon, Jacob Drinnon (Sumer), Madison Drinnon, Robert Anderson, Rowan Hlavaty, Sylvan Hlavaty, Danielle Drinnon, Macie Anderson and Tanner Mixon, and sister, Twila Wilson of Hamden, Connecticut.
A Rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 with visitation immediately following at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Dot will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Dorothy “Dot” Hlavaty to Sacred Heart Catholic Building Fund at 250 S. Davis Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088 or Heart of Georgia Hospice at 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
