Dwayne Eddie Taylor, known to many as “Fast Eddie and Uncle D.” a beloved member of the Warner Robins community, passed away at the age of 56, at the Houston Medical Center. He was born on October 24, 1967, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to his parents, Hubert Eugene and Glenda Moore Taylor.
After graduating from Warner Robins High School in 1986, Dwayne embarked on a career in the auto industry. His passion for cars started early, as he began working on vehicles in his mama and daddy's carport. Dwayne's love for fast cars and Harleys was well-known among his friends and family. He channeled this passion into building and racing his many drag cars over the years. He ultimately won a “Wally” drag racing award. Racing was not just a hobby he pursued throughout his entire life; it was a career in the body shop industry.
Dwayne was a dedicated and loyal individual, with a wide circle of friends that he considered family. He had a special place in his heart for his Georgia sports teams, supporting the Falcons, Braves, and Bulldogs. His infectious smile and kind heart endeared him to all who knew him. Dwayne was also known for his honesty; if you wanted the truth, he was the person to ask, as he would tell it like it is, whether you liked it or not. He spent many years at Five Star Collision, contributing his expertise and dedication to the profession he loved, before working at Gerber Glass and Collision.
He will be remembered for his passion, kindness, and the lasting impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him.
His memory will forever be treasured by his parents, Hubert Eugene Taylor and Glenda F. Taylor; siblings, Randy E. Taylor and Kim Taylor; niece, Cassidy Taylor; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
