Editha Wilcox Bowman, 87, entered into Heaven’s gates on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Editha was born on April 12, 1939, in Byron, Georgia, to the late Homer and Hassie Norton Wilcox. A woman of strong faith, quiet strength, and unwavering independence, Editha lived a simple life centered around the things that mattered most to her, God and family.

Editha took great pride in her work and approached every responsibility with dedication and a strong sense of purpose. She worked as a receptionist at Glass Service Center, where she took pride in her responsibilities and approached each day with determination. Hardworking and self-reliant, Editha valued her independence and found contentment in life's simple blessings.

Above all, Editha's faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her through every season. She was deeply devoted to her family and treasured the time spent with those she loved. Affectionately known as "Nana Banana," she held a special place in the hearts of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether through everyday moments or family gatherings, being surrounded by her loved ones brought her great joy. Her steadfast faith, strength, and love for her family will remain a lasting part of the legacy she leaves behind.

Editha's memory will forever be treasured by her children, Sheree Legro (Pete), Sandra Bowman, and Chuck Bowman; grandchildren, Tabitha Gutierrez, Robert Bowman, Tasha McAlister, Dillon Bowman, and Conner Legro; great-grandchildren, Gunner Coffee, Lexi Hawke, Charlie Bowman, and Kansas Bowman; and siblings, John Wilcox and Wileane Simmons.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, October 23, 2026, in Avondale Baptist Church Cemetery.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
