Ellis “Red” Thames, 75, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Serenity Gate in Perry, Georgia. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Valley, Georgia. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Serenity Gate Hospice, 1120 Morningside Drive, Perry, Georgia 31069.
Mr. Thames was born in Crawford County, Georgia. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was of the Baptist faith. His parents, B.W. and Alice Thames, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Mary “Polly” McClintic Thames, Warner Robins; daughters, Maryann Brantley, Byron; Tracie Ellen Garner, Warner Robins; son, Ellis Albert Thames, Jr., Warner Robins; sister, Hulette Minchew, Macon; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
