Emily Word

Emily Word, 58, a beloved native of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away on the morning of Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Born on September 25, 1966, Emily was the beloved daughter of the late Henry L. Word and Melba Kirby Word. She was a proud graduate of Warner Robins High School and a member of the Regents Club. Emily went on to earn her cosmetology certificate from Houston Vocational Technical College and later pursued further studies at Georgia Southern University.

After returning to her hometown, Emily worked in several local salons. She was known not only for her professional talent but also for her creativity.

A gifted crafter, Emily especially loved sewing doll clothes, quilting, knitting, and cooking.

Emily will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind cherished memories of laughter, love, and a life lived with intention and care.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Chris Sletto of Warner Robins; and brother, Joe Word of Maryland; as well as other beloved extended family members and friends.

At the family’s request, all services held will be private.
