Ernest David "Ernie" Collier formerly of Ripley, WV, passed away March 8, 2026, at Warner Robins, Georgia. Being a member in good standing, he got promoted and left for Heaven immediately.
He was born October 11, 1929, at Beauty, in Martin County, KY, to the late Millard F. Collier and Anna (Whitt) Collier. Ernie graduated from high school in Warfield, KY, and attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV. He enlisted in the Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by the Houdaille Industries in Huntington for 10 years and later employed by Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. of Ravenswood, WV, where he retired in 1988 after 31 years of service. He was an honorary Kentucky Colonel. He attended Bethel Bible Church at Kenna, WV, and was a member of Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church at Ripley, WV. He was also active in the Preach Evangelistic Ministries, now located in Seymour, MO.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Emma Jean Collier, Warfield, KY, brothers, Carl Collier, Warfield, KY, Glen Collier of Ashland, KY, and Archie Collier of Petersburg, Michigan.
Ernie is survived by one brother, George Collier (Marvina), Ida Michigan; son, David Collier (Deborah) of Warner Robins, GA; daughter, Tina (Greg) Burgin of Durham, NC; and three grandsons, Sam (Gabriella), Leslie (Kirstin). Keith (Terra); three great-grandsons, Miguel, Lucas and Andrew; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Doiron, all of Warner Robins, GA.
A graveside service honoring Ernie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Georgia Veterans Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Ernest David "Ernie" Collier to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 145525, Cincinnati, OH 45250-5525.
