Essie Mae Powell, 87, entered into rest on Thursday, July 23, 2009.
Mrs. Powell was born on January 14, 1922, in Eastman. She was of the Baptist Faith, and a devoted homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years, John K. Powell; and parents, James and Carrie Nicholson.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Ruby Cameron (Terry); two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009, at Rozier Cemetery in Roddy, Georgia.
