Ethel Beavers peacefully passed away at her residence on the morning of Wednesday, December 6, 2023. She was 80 years old. Ethel was the beloved daughter of Elvin and Lula Spicer Deaton. She was born on February 16, 1943, in Altro, Kentucky.
Family was at the center of Ethel's heart, and she delighted in every moment spent with her loved ones. She was a proud military wife and loved traveling the world. Ethel also loved visiting and spending time with her granddaughter. Ethel's green thumb and passion for gardening were evident in the countless days she and her husband spent tending their garden.
In her younger years, Ethel showcased her skill on the bowling alley. Her love for sports endured throughout her life. She enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams, the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, and Kentucky Wildcats.
For several years Ethel worked as a Supply Technician on Robins Air Force Base until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Winsor Beavers; and siblings, Helen Ashcraft (Carl) and Clyde Deaton; as well as her nephews, Jeff Ashcraft and Jay Deaton.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Diana Parkerson (Allen) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Kelvin Cannington (Patricia) of Navarre, Florida; granddaughter, Emily Cannington of Navarre, Florida; sister-in-law, Mary Rose Deaton; nieces and nephews, Kim Ashcraft (Terri), Tony Ashcraft (Tammy), and Wendy Smith (Paul); as well as her two furry companions, "Teddy" and Buffy," her beloved schnoodles.
Visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Ethel Beavers will be laid to rest next to her husband in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff and caretakers at Summerhill Nursing Home for the loving time and care given to Ethel during her final years.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Ethel Beavers to Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon, Georgia 31201.
