Evelyn Jean Pike passed away peacefully at her home early on the morning of Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the age of 88 years old.
Ms. Pike was born on December 23, 1937 in Southampton, New York to the late Wallace L. and Dorothy Smith Aldrich. After graduating from Southampton High School in 1955, she attended Southampton School of Nursing where she graduated in 1958 as a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career led her in different directions, but her favorite position was as a nurse in the psychiatric ward at Houston Medical Center where she served for ten years. Ms. Pike worked as nurse until she was 80 years old and maintained her nursing license even beyond that until January 2022.
Ms. Pike possessed a deep appreciation for handicrafts and enjoyed strolling through craft fairs admiring the work of others. She was a member of One Stitch at a Time Crochet Club and won a best of show ribbon at the Georgia National Fair for one of her crocheted hats. If she was not crocheting, she was probably tending to her flowers or some other gardening task, reading a good book, or browsing a flea market in search of the perfect bargain. She was a devoted friend who loved to help others any time she could.
A woman of deep faith and trust in God, she was a member of The Well at Centerville but had enjoyed worshipping most recently with her fellow residents at Summer’s Landing. She was preceded in death by her infant triplets.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring children, Wayne Kwiatkowski (Dani) of Cumming, Georgia and Michelle Kukshtel (Kirk) of Cleveland, Georgia; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
