Frances Long Owens, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed peacefully from this life on October 2, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on September 15, 1944, to the late Johnny B. Long and Bessie Viola Ragan Long Parker, Frances grew up with a deep love for family and faith that guided her throughout her life.
Frances dedicated her career to education, working faithfully as a paraprofessional for the Houston County Board of Education until her retirement. Her kind heart, patience, and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless students and colleagues over the years.
A woman of unwavering faith, Frances loved the Lord and lived her life as an example of grace and kindness. She adored her family above all, cherishing every moment she could spend with them. Known affectionately by her great-grandchildren as “Gigi,” she embraced the role with joy and pride, offering endless love and encouragement.
In her free time, Frances found peace and happiness in her garden, tending to her flowers and plants with care. She also loved to travel, visiting family and friends, and creating lasting memories wherever she went.
Frances will be remembered for her warmth, her steadfast love, and her devotion to both her family and her faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Michael Owens and Terri Owens; grandchildren, Ashley Owens (Jessica), Jarred Burch, Nathan Burch, and Taylor Owens; and great-grandchildren, Emi Owens, Addi Kate Owens, and Asher Owens.
