Gene F. Waddell

Gene F. Waddell, 35, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2006. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2006 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins, Georgia. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkinson County, Georgia. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mr. Waddell was born on December 16, 1970 in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was a member of Oconee Baptist Church in Laurens County and attended Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins. Mr. Waddell was a graduate of Georgia College & State University where he received his undergraduate and Master’s Degree in Secondary English. He taught high school English at Southeast High School in Macon for two years before teaching English at Warner Robins High School for the past five years. He sponsored the Academic Team which won many competitions, drove a bus for High School special events, was a Who’s Who Among American High School Teachers and received the My Teacher is Tops Award presented by WMAZ. He was greatly loved by his family, friends, students and colleagues. His grandparents, Arthur and Sallie Montgomery, and Ben and Thelma Waddell, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his parents, John and Lillie Waddell, Toomsboro; brother, Keith Waddell (Heather), Covington, Georgia; sister, Rita Burney (Hank), Covington, Georgia; nieces, Emma Waddell, Ella Waddell and Audrey Burney.
