George W. Halliburton, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the age of 92.
George was born on July 24, 1934, in Houston County, Georgia, to the late Ethel Mae Walker Halliburton and Willie Halliburton. He was educated in the Houston County School System. On August 9, 1953, he married the love of his life, Myra L. Toliver Halliburton, and together they shared 73 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was blessed with six children.
A faithful man of God, George was a devoted member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia. He faithfully served his church family as Treasurer for many years before serving as Chairman of the Deacon Board for more than 55 years. His love for the Lord was evident in both his service and his daily life. His heart often expressed the simple but powerful words, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I love You. I thank You.”
George was a farmer at heart and found great joy in working with animals and tending to his garden. He also enjoyed working on cars, especially in the days before vehicles became so dependent on electronics and technology.
A dedicated and hardworking man, George served the Houston County Transportation Department as a school bus driver for more than 32 years. He also devoted 30 years of service to Flint Energies before retiring. In his younger days, he proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter.
Above all else, George was a devoted family man. His greatest joy was his wife, children, and family. Attending church together as a family was especially meaningful to him and remained one of the true joys of his life. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and one grandchild.
His memory will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 73 years, Myra Halliburton; his six children; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law; one brother; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
George's life was one of faith, service, hard work, and love for his family. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
His home going celebration will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, 417 Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088. George will be laid to rest at Parkway Memorial Garden, 720 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093.
