CMSgt. George Arthur Parker, Sr., USAF (Ret.), 82, entered into rest on Monday, December 4, 2023.
George was born on October 31, 1941, in Ticonderoga, New York. He honorably served for 30 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. During his time in the service, he received such accomplishments as the Air Force Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Marksmanship Ribbon, and the Air Force Training Ribbon. He was a hard worker who made friends everywhere he went and was proud of his military family. In his younger years, he loved to golf and hunt. George also enjoyed watching the Macon Mayhem play. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
His parents, Raymond and Evelyn Parker, along with his sister, Shirley Reittinger, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 44 years, Raisa Parker; children, Sonia Marie Grady (John) and George Arthur Parker, Jr. (Alycia); grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob, Jonathon, Jake, and Owen; and siblings, Cora Parker, Lora Hamm, Betty Jean Robideau, John Parker, Cheryl Kennedy-Byrd, Robert Parker, and Darlene Parker-Palmer.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Andersonville National Cemetery, where George will be laid to rest.
