George "Pete" C. Cannon, Sr.

George C. “Pete” Cannon, Sr., 66, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2006. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 7 until 9 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mr. Cannon was born on September 18, 1939 in Byron, Georgia. A proud veteran, he retired from the United States Navy where he earned the rank of E-3 Tech. He lived most of his life in Warner Robins before moving to Jacksonville, FL three years ago. Pete was also retired from the Houston County Correctional Institute where he was a Corrections Officer. His wife, Sara J. Cannon and his parents, John Collis Cannon and Ida Pearl Tucker, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Lee Maddox, Warner Robins; son and daughter-in-law, George Collis Cannon, Jr. and Maria, Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Tyler, Trey, and Taylor Maddox, Warner Robins; Brittany, Beau, Chris Kara, and Sean Cannon, Jacksonville, FL; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and Michael McCall, Tuskegee, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
