In the early morning hours of Friday, September 2, 2016, George R. Capelle, 92, was reunited with his loving wife of 60 years, the late Alice Traxler Capelle.
George was born on August 15, 1924 in Willard, Ohio, to the late Logan and Minnie Stevens Capelle. With great pride and honor he served in the United States Army. Following his years of active duty service, George worked as an Inventory Manager at Robins Air Force Base until his retirement. He was a longtime active member of the Church of the Nazarene.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Diane Blake (Greg) of Clarksville; June Rogers (Rick) of Hereford, Arizona; Thomas Capelle (Cyle) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Deanna Kelleher (Todd), Jay Rogers, Kaci Register (Sam), Kalen Capelle, Ryan Rogers (Amy); fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Glower of Shelby, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with George's family will be Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough. After the service, George will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of George R. Capelle to The Children's Miracle Network, 858 High Street, Macon, Ga 31201.
