George Washington Martin, 81, entered into rest on Monday, September 23, 2013.
George was born on September 28, 1931 in Douglas, Georgia to the late George E. and O'Dell Darsey Martin. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. George was an active member of The Assembly at Warner Robins and was an avid gardener. His son, Jeffery Martin; granddaughter, Tracey Martin; parents; and siblings, Pete Martin, Ollie Martin, Geraldine Davis, and Idell Hemphill, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Emma Martin of Warner Robins, Georgia; children, Michael Martin (Cindy) of Cartersville, Georgia and former daughter-in-law, Gina Harn of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandon and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Hunter and Hudson; sisters, Bertha Bass of Eastman, Georgia and Betty Miley of Macon, Georgia; and several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will accept flowers, or donations may be given to The Assembly at Warner Robins Building Fund, 6040 Watson Boulevard, Byron, GA 31008.
