Geraldine “Gerri” Dorrity Arnold, 81, entered into eternal rest on November 14, 2025. Born on August 1, 1944, in Ocilla, Georgia, Gerri was the beloved daughter of the late John and Sara Morgan Dorrity. Her early years, spent working alongside her father the contractor, shaped her lifelong love of building, fixing, and tackling any challenge with unwavering confidence.
For over 50 years, Gerri dedicated herself to her work as a beautician, using her remarkable talent to help others feel their best. Her warm nature and easy conversation meant that clients often became lifelong friends. She never met a stranger—she could strike up a conversation with anyone, and her lively spirit filled every room she entered.
Gerri enjoyed cooking and baking, and she often shared the results of her time in the kitchen with family and friends. Her home was a welcoming place, and she took simple pleasure in preparing meals and treats for the people she cared about.
With a bold spirit that never faded, Gerri rode horses, shot guns, and earned the nickname “tough old bird,” a title she carried with pride. She was a devoted fan of UGA football and could always be found cheering on her Dawgs with enthusiasm.
Above all, Gerri cherished her family. She was always there for her loved ones, offering support, wisdom, and boundless love. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she never missed a chance to be there for their games, events, and milestones. Her presence—steady, joyful, and full of pride—will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In addition to her parents, Gerri was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Arnold and sister, Sally D. Ethridge.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Morgan Arnold and Megan Paredes (Miguel); grandchildren, Ashton Paredes, Alyssa Paredes and Sergio Paredes; sister-in-law, Robyne Smith; and niece, Jodi Vaughan.
