Gilbert L. Spacek

Gilbert L. Spacek, 79, entered into rest on June 25, 2010.

Mr. Spacek was born on April 20, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio. Gilbert was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force; he also retired from Robins Air Force Base where he was employed as a Program Manager. A proud first generation American, Mr. Spacek was an avid Civil War historian. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and timeless community member, Mr. Spacek was a member of the Moose Lodge and Dixie Old Crows. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Bertha Spacek.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of 35 years, Helen Day Spacek; children, Brian Spacek (Tracey); David Spacek (Penny); Russell Spacek (Earlene); Beth Gregory-Jones (Stuart); Bryan Gregory; and grandchildren, Ame and Alex Spacek, Jeremiah, Joshua, and Justin Jones, and Bryan Gregory, II.

Visitation will be Monday, June 28, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Mr. Keith Williams will officiate funeral services on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given either to the Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, 31088 or to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Marietta, GA, 30067.
