Glenda Ashley Simmons, 85, entered into eternal rest on April 25, 2026.
Born on April 8, 1941, in Macon, Georgia, Glenda was the daughter of the late Max and Kathleen McDougal Ashley. She spent many years in civil service at Robins Air Force Base, where she worked as an electronic technician until her retirement. Her dedication and steady work ethic earned the respect of those who worked alongside her.
Outside of her career, Glenda found joy in the simple things she loved most. She had a deep appreciation for gardening, with a special fondness for African violets, which she nurtured with care.
She was also a devoted animal lover, especially to her cats, who brought her constant companionship.
Glenda enjoyed following her favorite teams, cheering on the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. In quieter moments, she could often be found watching classic films or spending time at the beach, places that brought her peace and happiness.
She will be remembered for her steady presence, her love of home and hobbies, and the quiet ways she cared for the things and people important to her.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Simmons, and daughter-in-law, Katrina Simmons.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Paul Simmons, Richard Simmons (Leigh Ann), and Lisa Abramson; grandchildren, Johsua Simmons (Katie), Jeremy Simmons, Jordan Simmons (Alicia), Emily Webb (Justin), Ramsey Simmons, Tayte Simmons, Joshua Williams (Erica) and Ashley Sumrall (Gran); and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held following visitation at 12:30 p.m., at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
