Harry Wright Denison

January 25, 1946 — March 29, 2023

On the evening of Wednesday, March 29, 2023, our father, brother and uncle, Harry Wright Denison, age 77, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his children and loved ones, after fiercely fighting cancer for three years. He was born on January 25, 1946 in Fairfax, SC to the late Wright and Gladys Kicklighter Denison and was of the Baptist faith.

Harry began a lengthy and successful career in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base in 1973. He started out as an electronics mechanic and progressed through the ranks to the Technical Control Officer and Configuration Control Manager for the Special Operations Forces Division; he proudly retired in January of 2010 with 36 years of dedicated service to his country. Over and above Harry’s achievements in his professional career, he was even more revered within his family for the unending love he showered over each of them, especially his children. He had an amazing sense of humor and was never without a smile; he was always happy when he was around family. Harry was an excellent harmonica player and an avid college football fan, the Georgia Bulldogs being his favorite team (GO DAWGS!). He enjoyed traveling to the mountains in the fall to admire the changing of the leaves, as well. For Harry’s family, he leaves behind the legacy of enduring love and kindness, which were all attributes that he radiated in the fullest with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 17 years, Debra Jean Fowler Denison; and siblings, Roslyn Baker, Joanne Denison and Patrick “Bunk” Denison.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Jody Wright Denison of Warner Robins and Tammy Denison Strickland (James) of Bonaire; brother, Phillip Denison of Ohio; niece and nephew, Kim Mosley Wages (Mel) of Andy Mosley (Starla), both of Georgia.

Harry will be laid to rest with a private graveside service for his family in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
