Helen Priscilla Mengel, 84, entered into rest on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
Priscilla was born on February 29, 1940, to the late Clifford and Helen Nichols, lived a life filled with love, dedication, and quiet strength. As a devoted military wife, she stood steadfastly by the side of her beloved husband, Chuck, throughout their 57 years of marriage, creating a warm and loving home wherever life took them.
In the late 1970s, Priscilla began working at Belk-Matthews, where she spent nearly two decades forming friendships and brightening the days of those around her with her kindness and warm spirit.
An avid birdwatcher, she found joy in nature’s simple wonders, often spending peaceful hours watching the world from her window. She was also a lover of words, whether she was getting lost in the pages of a book or solving crossword puzzles with quiet determination.
Priscilla’s gentle presence, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Though she has left this world, the memories she created and the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.
