Helen Vernelle Nix

Helen Vernelle Nix, 91, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

Helen was born on January 3, 1932, in Alpharetta, Georgia to the late Charles Oscar Nix, Sr. and Lillian McCleskey Nix. She grew up in Alpharetta, Georgia in a small community called Crabapple. After graduating from Milton High School in 1949, Helen went on to business school where she graduated with a secretarial degree. She had a long and fulfilling career as a secretary for several different businesses in Atlanta. After Helen retired, she relocated to Warner Robins where she resided for the last 35 years. Helen was a long-time member of Providence Baptist Church in Alpharetta.  Helen enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dining out, and taking walks. Her presence will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Nix Grubbs and Charles Oscar Nix, Jr.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her nieces and nephews, Bob Grubbs, Charles Grubbs (Cheryl), Liz Richardson (Lowell), Ramona Grubbs, and Rachel Dugger (Lynn); great nieces and nephews, Daniel Richardson, Abby Dugger, and Grayson Dugger; and beloved great-great niece and nephew, Tyler Richardson, and Ella Richardson along with many other loving friends and family members.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at a later time at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Milton, Georgia, where Helen will be laid to rest.
