On the evening of Friday, October 23, 2026, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Helen Mae Young, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Helen was born on December 19, 1946, in Sherrodsville, Ohio, to the late William R. and Floy Lettia Livingston Leatherman. She devoted her life to her husband and family, finding joy in caring for those she loved. She also generously gave her time through various volunteer activities, including volunteering at her children’s school events when they were younger.
Helen was a longtime, faithful member of Bonaire Church, the Fan Alice Sunday School Class, and the Wil Life Bunch. In her leisure time, she enjoyed a little retail therapy and crocheting. For many years, she was a devoted season ticket holder and enthusiastic supporter of the Warner Robins Demons.
Helen’s life was filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories that will live in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 62 years, William Young of Bonaire; her children, Terrie Anderson of Bonaire, Sena White (Danny) of Locust Grove, and Will Young of Covington; her grandchildren, Tyler Anderson (Kristy), Kelly Mellinger (Ryan), and Joshua White; her great-grandchildren, Maguire Mellinger, Skyla Bryant, Emerson Mellinger, Riggs Mellinger, and Raine Broxton; along with her extended family and all those whose lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed. The love she shared, the faith she carried, and the memories she leaves behind will remain a lasting blessing to her family and friends.
Visitation with Helen’s family will be on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Bonaire Church with Pastor Jason Dickerson officiating. Afterward, Helen will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in memory of Helen to St. Jude Children’s Research, www.stjude.org.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
