Henry Ard, Jr.

March 16, 1928 — March 19, 2011

Henry Ard, Jr., 83, entered into rest on Saturday, March 19, 2011.

Mr. Ard was born on March 16, 1928, in Macon and was of the Baptist Faith. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army, then in civil service at Robins Air Force Base as a mechanic before retirement. He also worked for the Houston County Board of Education for twenty-five years as a bus driver. Mr. Ard was very involved in the C.B. Radio Club and loved to travel. His sister, Helen Youngblood, and parents, George Henry Ard and Annie Mae Brown Ard, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Sara Lash Ard; sons, Kenneth (Beth), James (Elaine) and Jeff (Josephine); grandchildren, Jessica Gunn (Andrew), Tyler Ard, Garrytte Ard, William Trawick, Andrew Pancake and Clayton Cornelius; and great-grandchild, Caleb Gunn.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 23, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Heart of Georgia Inpatient Hospice, 1120 Morningside Drive, Perry GA 31069.
