Hildred Tate Chesley, 92, passed away on January 12, 2026 in Perry, Georgia.

She was born in Exeter, Maine on November 25, 1933 to the late Harvard and Marguerite (Batchelder) Tate.

She grew up in East Corinth, Maine where she graduated from East Corinth Academy as Valedictorian in 1952. She attended Husson Business College in Bangor, Maine and later received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Macon Junior College in Macon, Georgia.

She married her high school sweetheart MSgt Alton Robert (Mickey) Chesley. She was a wonderful mother and devoted wife who supported her husband throughout his military career. She also had a career with Civil Service and retired from Robins Air Force Base as a C-130 Program Manager in December 1987.

Her church home was The Assembly at Perry and Warner Robins. She was a member of the Centerville, Warner Robins, and Ted Wright senior citizens clubs. She was also a member of the Perry Senior Center.

Hildred and Mickey enjoyed their early retirement days for five years living at Lake Sinclair with many family gatherings there. Then they enjoyed camping and traveling together fulltime visiting most of our beautiful State and National Parks for nine years before returning to live in Warner Robins in 1999 and later in Perry, Georgia.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mildred Balthis, brother, Kenneth Tate, sister, Sandra Blackwell, brother-in-law, Wilbert Campbell, sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Floyd Wiggin, sister and brother-in-law, Winona and James Ugone, and sister-in-law, Jean Chesley.

Hildred's memory will be forever treasured by her devoted daughters, Bonnie Franklin of Perry, Georgia and Trina Collins (Tom) of Perry, Georgia; sister-in-law, Beverly Tate of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine; sisters, Lois Crane (Neil) of Dexter, Maine and Pearl Campbell of Bangor, Maine; brother-in-laws, Earl Blackwell of Clinton, Maine and Roger Chesley of Brewer, Maine; grandchildren, Megan Franklin of Reno, Nevada, Jennifer Collier (Brent) of Perry, Georgia, Tony Collins (Julie-Ann) of Cumming, Georgia, Melissa Riley (Brad) of Fort Valley, Georgia and Michael Collins (Krissy) of Kathleen, Georgia; great grandchildren, Dr. Maggie Spivey of Savannah, Georgia, Katie Spivey of Perry, Georgia, Jacob (Laramie) Spivey of Hawkinsville, Georgia, Maddie Collins of Cumming, Georgia, Allen and Callie Collins of Kathleen, Georgia; step great grandchildren, Maddie Collier of Perry, Georgia, Katie, Jacob, and Josh Griffis of Kathleen, Georgia; two great-great grandsons, Tate and Jace Spivey of Hawkinsville, Georgia.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Magnolia Park Cemetery where Hildred will be laid to rest next to her husband Mickey.
