Horace Benjamin Salter, Jr.

A Korean War veteran, Horace Benjamin Salter, Jr., 82, passed away at Houston Medical Center on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

Mr. Salter was born on April 21, 1939, in Thomaston, Georgia. He was the son of the late Horace Benjamin Salter, Sr. and Janie Lynn Procter. Mr. Salter bravely served in the United States Army, Navy, and Reserves. After the military, he worked as the Manager of Food Lion. Mr. Salter enjoyed fishing, gardening, and yard work in his spare time. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Salter is survived by his beloved wife, Norma Faye Salter; children, Debra Blalock (Ronnie) of Bonaire, Kim Thompson, Shannon Evans (Brandon) of Warner Robins, and Lynn Bowen (Jeff) of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
