Howard C. Lightcap passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the age of 83.
He was born on July 16, 1931 in Miamisburg, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Mina Lightcap. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Fleming Foods after 18 years of employment. Howard will be remembered as a loving family man.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 50 years, Regina Lightcap.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Shirley Lightcap of Warner Robins; children, Mike Lightcap of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and Michelle Lightcap Harrell of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Travis and Lance Harrell, both of Warner Robins; sister, Clara Lightcap of Cincinnati, Ohio and Richard Lightcap of Dayton, Ohio; stepchildren, Marion Melton of Canton, Georgia, Jesse Cline (Pam) of Carrollton, Georgia, George Cline (Beth) of Blairsville, Georgia, Ed Cline (Lola) of Carrollton, Georgia, Shirley Thompson (Jimmy) of Apalachicola, Florida, Warren Cline (Faye) of Carrollton, Georgia, and Ollie Gunn (Susan) of Chandler, Arizona; and many adoring nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend George Cline officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the Lightcap Residence following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Howard C. Lightcap to The Gideon's International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214, or to any veterans or animal society of your choice.
