Iantha L. Hale, born on August 21, 1964, in Santa Ana, CA, to the late Jesse E. and Naoma J. Capps passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Iantha grew up in a large family in California and was always known as a "tomboy" growing up. She was constantly involved with sports throughout her youth, with softball being her favorite. In her young adult life, she was employed in the service industry because she loved being around people and serving the community.
Iantha was married twice, with the first making her a proud parent of Joanna Lynn and Kristen Marie. In 1988, she met and married her second husband, Joseph Hale, and was gifted with a third daughter, Joyce Ileen. They started their new life together in Orange County, CA, as Joe was a Marine and stationed at MCAS El Toro.
When civilian life came, they moved their small family to Gaston, Indiana. They resided there for 20 years, raised their children, made many, many new friends, and were very active in their daughters’ lives. Iantha loved coaching softball, and you could always find her at the ball diamond in the summer. Whether she was coaching, umpiring, or running the concession stand, she made sure the kids always had successful seasons.
After the kids were grown, they moved to Georgia taking a job at Robins AFB. While there, Iantha worked for NAF, in the base restaurant and in one of many snack bars on base. She did this for several years until back pain forced her into medical retirement. Iantha and Joe were married for 37 years and often talked about buying an RV to travel after Joe's retirement.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joesph Hale; her daughters, Joanna L. Hale (Warner Robins), Kristen M. Hale (Muncie, IN), Joyce I. Bray and her husband, James (Little Rock, AR). She also leaves behind grandchildren, Emily Rigney (Bonaire), Christopher Boyd (Warner Robins), Jayden Boyd (Warner Robins), and Micah Bray (Little Rock, AR); as well as her beloved siblings, Alice Hardy (Sarasota, FL), brother, Carl Warfel (Arizona), and brother, Robert Warfel (Alaska); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends around the country.
At the family’s request, all services held will be private.
