Ilona Kathryn Bartlett

Mrs. Ilona Kathryn Bartlett passed away on July 4, 2017 at the Houston Medical Center. Mrs. Bartlett was born in 1928 in Debrecen, Hungary, where she spent her childhood. During World War II, as the Russians were invading Hungary, her father was able to send her away by ambulance for her protection. She arrived safely in Vienna, Austria, where she would ultimately meet her husband, Clarence Lee Bartlett, who was serving there in the United States Army.
With her husband, Mrs. Bartlett moved many times during his career in the Army. Along the way, she earned both a Bachelors and a Master's Degree. She was a homemaker, and devoted her time to raising their two children, Clarence Lee Jr., and Judith Ann. Upon her husband's retirement, she and Mr. Bartlett settled in Virginia, where he sadly passed away in 1973 just after retiring. After his death, she relocated to Warner Robins. She was a true lover of animals, often taking in rescues. She also enjoyed sewing. Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by her parents, Istvan Piranszky and Esztike Fúto Piranszky, three brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include her son, Clarence L. Bartlett, Jr. (Vicki), Irvington, VA; daughter, Judith Ann Brooks , Reedville, VA; grandchildren: Kimberly Ann Clark, Desiree Kathryn Doucet (Patrick), Heather Marie Clemente (Giuseppe), Robert Royal, and Michael Miller; and great grandchildren: Olivia, Corinne, and Charlotte Doucet, and Madison Miller.
At the request of the family, all services will be private. Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Bartlett to the Humane Society of Houston County, 810 Carl Vinson Parkway, Centerville, GA, 31028.
