Jack S. Elliott, Sr., 89, entered into rest on Sunday, November 21, 2010.
Mr. Elliott was born on July 25, 1921, in Atlanta. Jack was a WW II veteran who proudly served his country the U. S. Navy Seabees. He retired from Southern Bell as a PBX repairman with over forty years of faithful and loyal service. Avondale Baptist Church was his church home. Jack was a Mason, a Son of the Confederate Veterans, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. His parents, John Russell Elliott and Sally Sheram Elliott, preceded him in death.
He will live in the hearts of his wife of 69 years, Annelle Minchew Elliott, Macon; sons, Jack Sheram Elliott, Jr., Byron, and Wade Elliott (Brenda), Kathleen; daughter, Faye Tommey (Donald), Columbus; son, Russ Elliott (Debra), Lizella; daughter, Lydia Holloman, Byron; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, November 22, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Avondale Baptist Church, the Reverend Marty Watson and Dr. David Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Avondale Baptist Church Cemetery. The family extends a special thank you to Annelle's caregivers for their dedicated help and support during this time; they also express their deep appreciation to the staff of the River Willows Nursing Center, Warner Robins Rehab, and Vista Care Hospice, for the compassionate way in which they cared for Jack. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Vista Care Hospice, 319 Margie Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088.
