Jamar D. Thomas peacefully transitioned on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Atrium Navicent Health Center in Macon, Georgia. Jamar D. Thomas was born on September 22, 1973, to the late Geneva Lawrence Morris and late General Thomas. He was born in California, later moved to Alabama with his mother and resided in Warner Robins, Georgia until his death. Jamar’s faith journey began early at a young age, as he rededicated to Christ under the leadership of Pastor Steven Huntley, becoming a member of True Divine Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a proud graduate of Jefferson Davis High School of Montgomery, Alabama where he earned his high school diploma. He went on to earn his CDL certification and license in trucking from Trenholme State Community College where he devoted 31 years in trucking.

Jamar’s memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of his wife, Gisela Thomas and loved ones. He was a devoted husband, son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He survived by four children, Jamario Thomas, Jarvis Thomas, Jamaria Thomas, and Jordan Thomas; four stepchildren, JaLa Rose, Tamika Pugh (Nigel), Sha’Von Hill (Matthew), and Brianna Eagle.

He precedes one sister in death, Corrine Coleman, survived by two sisters, two brothers, Darrell Morris, and Robert Morris. He leaves behind great aunts and great uncles, Geneva Barrett of Cleveland, Ohio, Margaret Williams, and Buddy Williams of Columbus, Ohio, two aunts, Julia Ann Atwood of Pensacola, Florida, Sylvania Robinson of Los Angeles, California. Jamar (POPS) leaves behind three grandchildren, Lucas, Mason, and Avery Thomas and a host of step-grandchildren. One devoted niece, LaToyia Coleman, a host of nieces, nephews, a devoted friend, Robert Rudolph, and a host of friends.

A memorial service celebrating Jamar’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. At the family’s request, burial will be private.
