James Alin Wilson, 69, went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 2020.
James was born on March 8, 1951 in Monticello, Georgia to the late Velma Irene Knecht Wilson and George Albert Wilson. After twenty-five years serving his country with the Air Force National Guard, he was enjoying retired life and using his many learned skills. He enjoyed using his carpentry skills to make wooden toys for his grandchildren, craft jewelry boxes for his daughter, and build construction projects with his brothers. James enjoyed using the wisdom he gained from his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Bible College and from his experiences as a decorated veteran to hold interesting conversations with his friends. He always kept a positive outlook during hardships in life, even when receiving a shocking pancreatic cancer diagnosis earlier this month. Since times are so uncertain, he would encourage all to trust in the Lord Jesus, who gives victory over sin and death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter, Judy Sunshine Williams; son-in-law, Aaron James Williams; five grandchildren, Isaiah, Josiah, Malachi, Hosanna, and Zebedee Williams; big brother Jo Wilson; sister-in-law Gail Wilson; younger brother Jan, sister-in-law Cristy Wilson and others dear to him during his life.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 4, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A Graveside service celebrating his life will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fort Valley.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
