James B. Kelly, 70, departed this life on October 19, 2008, in Mooresville, North Carolina, surrounded by loved ones.
Mr. Kelly was born on May 22, 1938, in Lakeland, Georgia. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United State Navy. He later retired from the Warner Robins Fire Department after thirty-three years of service, during which he was a State Fire Marshall, Assistant Chief and Chief of Investigations. Jimmy Kelly, also know as "Daddy-O" to his friends, had a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, golfing, and all things UGA! He was also an accomplished cook and artist.
His parents, Margaret S. Kelly and E.J. Kelly, and infant brother, William Bryant Kelly, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ange Kelly; daughter, Kimberly Rouse (Don); son, J. Kelly (Tammie), all of Warner Robins; daughter, Kristin Hovey (Kent), Mooresville, North Carolina; step-children, Christine Lewis (Mark), Terra Ceia Island, Florida and David Wilson, Orlando, Florida; sister, Elizabeth Kelly Byus, Augusta; grandchildren, Ashley Rouse, Alex Kelly and Stratton Kelly, Warner Robins; Kinley Hovey and Kenna Hovey, Mooresville, North Carolina; Cassie Smith (Jace) and Taylor Lewis, Terra Ceia Island, Florida; nephew, Trey Byus (Susan), Athens; and niece, Kelly Byus Campbell (Mark), Charleston, South Carolina.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 22, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins. A private burial will follow.
