James Dennis “Jim” Kelly, 47, died Friday, January 10, 2003 at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross. Services will be held at 3:00p.m. on Monday, January 13 at McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon. The Reverend Sydney Odom will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home.
Family accepts flowers but that any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1544, Warner Robins, GA 31099-1544.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Mr. Kelly was a resident of Warner Robins since 1963. Following graduation from Warner Robins High School in 1973, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts for 3 ½ years. He was currently employed at Robins Air Force Base.
Mr. Kelly served in several officer and project manager positions for the Warner Robins Jaycees. He was selected as one of the Top Ten Jaycee Presidents in the State of Georgia and served in several Georgia Jaycees honor organizations. From 1969 until 1999, he also played drums for various local and regional bands, including Sugarcreek. His parents, Ernest Hoyt and Oloyse Smith Kelly, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Dianne Williams Kelly, Warner Robins; son, Justin Ashley Kelly, Warner Robins; brother, Larry Kelly, and sister-in-law, Nancy Kelly, Norcross, GA; two nieces, Lara Kelly, Asheville, NC, and Deborah Kelly, Norcross, GA; and father- and mother-in-law, Walter (Bud) Williams and Elizabeth Williams, Hawkinsville, GA and four additional sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews.
